| | 1996 was the year that Disneyland's "Main
Street Electrical Parade" had its "Farewell Season."
Seizing upon this opportunity to suggest that the DorseyCard tradition might
also be bidding a farewell, Don labelled the mailing boxes "So Long Season"
and enclosed a fortune cookie, traditionally the final item at a meal. A fortune
cookie is supposed to prophecy the future via
a cryptic message inside, and to retrieve the message (and your future), you
must break the cookie (and break with the past). Since DorseyCard has become
somewhat of a collector's item, this presented a dilemma for each recipient:
to break or not to break? Don created 15 different fortunes and made sure
that each recipient got an appropriate one. |
